Hot cross buns

What you'll need (makes 10) makes 12 for the hot cross buns 3 C almond meal 3 eggs 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp cinnamon ground 1/2 tsp nutmeg ground 3 tbs raw pure honey 100g raisins for the crosses 1/4 C dates, soaked in boiling water until soft | How to make them for the hot cross buns Combine all inreadients in a large mixing bowl. Add more almond meal if the mixture is to sticky. Take handfuls of mixture and roll into balls. Place on a lined baking tray and square off the edges slightly. Place in a preheated oven at 160 degrees C and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the outside is sightly golden. for the crosses Meanwhile, place dates in a food processor and blend until smooth. Place date mixture in a piping bag or zip lock back, cut off the corner and ice a cross onto the top of the top of the warm buns. |
